Introduction

OBW Technologies are aware of our responsibilities as a data controller and are committed to our duty of care regarding the personal data within our control.  This privacy policy is to help you understand what information we collect, why we collect that information and how you can manage your personal information stored by us by updating, deleting & exporting it. 

Information That We Collect

We collect information that we can use to enhance your experience as a customer, for instance: we save some basic contact information about you (Your name, email address, telephone number and company name & address) so that when you buy a gas detection unit from us that we can remind you when that unit is due for calibration. This helps us deliver a higher level of service to you as a customer. This is completely optional and we will ask you upon purchase if you would like us to remind you when calibrations are due for your products. If we already have your information saved you can at any time request us to update or delete that information entirely.

We also save your name and email address when you contact us through our contact form and if you sign up to receive our special offers and newsletter & we perform some basic analytics on our website that keeps track of what pages are visited. We use Google Analytics & Adwords for these services and you can learn more about these and manage your privacy setting with Google by reviewing their privacy policy.

Sharing your information

We do not share you personal information with any third party unless absolutely necessary, for example: we use gmail as an email service provider so email data is shared with them, we use mailchimp to send out bulk emails to our customers so your email address (if you are subscribed to our promotional offers list) is shared with them. In some cases we may also need to share your contact information with a third party such a shipping company or payment provider company. In all of these cases the third party has assured us that they are GDPR compliant and there is a  genuine business requirement to share this information, all of your GDPR rights such as the right to be forgotten still apply in this case.

How we protect your information

OBW Technologies take security very seriously. We use strong SSL encryption by default on our website to keep your data safe while in transit.

We restrict access to personal information to employees contractors & third parties that absolutely require that information in order to process genuine business requirements.

We review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to prevent unauthorised access to our systems.

Exporting or deleting your information.

To see a copy of your own data held by OBW Technologies you will need to submit a written request to the OBW Technologies Data Protection Officer enclosing proof of identity, such as staff ID card, or copy of driving licence or passport together with the administrative fee of €6.35.
